Nothing is more important to me than family. And I am lucky that they are also my friends. We love to spend weekends and holidays together (my favorite is Thanksgiving!), sharing stories, recipes and lots of laughs.
I was raised in a happy home and was taught strong values from a very young age. My parents and grandmother always taught my sister and me the importance of treating everyone with kindness, compassion and respect. They taught us to dream, love, laugh and try our hardest. I look forward to sharing these important lessons with a child.
I am so grateful to have such fond memories of my childhood because of my family, and I can't wait to help a child experience the same joy that I had with my family growing up and continue to have with them today.

My desire to become a mom comes from having the best mom of my own. Full of love, trust and great advice, she is my role model and my inspiration to parent a child. She is going to make the most amazing grandma and can't wait to shower a child with love, books, crafts and delicious home-cooked meals (my favorite is her mac 'n cheese!).
A letter to you from my mom:
I am writing this letter to let you know what a wonderful person my daughter is. She is loved by the whole family and her many, many friends. She is probably the friendliest person I know. Not only does she make friends easily, she keeps them. She has a wide circle of caring and supportive friends. She is kind and generous and loyal. Her friends' children adore her. We are a close family and would welcome a child with open arms. I am a retired teacher. Our home is filled with books, toys and games. We love music, singing and dancing. My husband loves sports. We have a house in a suburb very close to the city where Debbie and her sister live and we visit often. Our home has lots of room and a big backyard for a child to enjoy. We are looking forward to reading and playing with, and loving our grandchild.

My dad is the kindest and most supportive man I know...and always greets me with the biggest smile and hug. He loves to volunteer, spend time with his family and watch sports (especially baseball!). He loves children and welcomes any chance he has to read, play games and toss a ball with them. A child would be so lucky to call him grandpa.
A letter to you from my dad:
I am the very proud father of two amazing daughters. My younger daughter Debbie brings a lot of joy and happiness to my wife and me. She is very outgoing and possesses certain traits that any child would love in their mother. First, she is very respectful of others. Kindness toward family, friends and especially those in need of a helping hand is part of her everyday living habits. A child would be so happy in her home and find pleasure, love and guidance from the extended family.

My sister, Dana, is smart, kind, generous and truly my best friend. She loves children and children of all ages adore her. She is also an amazing baker and brings a fresh batch of yummy treats whenever she visits (my favorite are her chocolate chip cookies)!
A letter from Dana to me:
Dear Debbie,
I am so happy that you are pursuing your dream to become a parent. I know that you have wanted this for a long time and from the beginning have considered adopting a child to start your family. You will be such a wonderful mom. You are loving, kind, fun, adventurous and dedicated, and you deeply appreciate the precious responsibility of raising a child.
I am really excited to welcome this child to our family and to being an aunt! Living just a few blocks away, you know you can count on me for everything from diaper duty to helping with homework. I'm really looking forward to sharing with my niece or nephew the things that I like to do such as reading books, baking cookies and exploring the neighborhood, and also to have this child introduce me to the things that she or he likes to do.
